Jolly Phonics is how we teach our students to read and write it is a fun and child centred approach to teaching literacy through synthetic phonics.

It would be a huge benefit to your child if you could familiarise yourself with Jolly Phonics as it is a big part of their learning in Junior Infants. You can find out more on the jolly phonics website http://jollylearning.co.uk/.

There is also a very useful manual & cd called jolly phonics jolly songs which is available to buy online or in the treasury book store, new ross. This CD has all the songs which we will learn in class and is very handy to have playing in the car or at home, alternatively you can view this song for free on YouTube by searching “Jolly Phonics full song”.
